As the Learning Lab Apps Assistant Curriculum Manager, you’ll be responsible for obsessing over the needs of our customers and ensuring that all our existing content and new content meets and exceeds their expectations.
You’ll be working closely with our Curriculum Manager to help set curriculum development goals and objectives. You’ll also be working closely with our product design team to ensure our curriculum content is delivered in an exceptional way, and with our customer service team to ensure our customers are happy.
Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that our Curriculum Development team are creating the best content available for the South African school curriculum from Grade 1 to 12.
Is this job for me?
You’ll need to have all these qualities and qualifications in order to be considered for this position:
- Minimum of 6 years classroom teaching experience in a primary or high school.
- Teaching degree OR any other relevant university degree.
- Project management qualification OR the ability to demonstrate project planning processes clearly and effectively.
- Extensive knowledge of the South African CAPS curriculum.
- Ability to make use of Blooms Taxonomy in compiling curriculum relevant content.
- Excellent computer literacy skills with knowledge of, or experience using, creative tools to design curriculum content for “digital age” learners.
- The ability to demonstrate creativity in the curriculum design process.
- Excellent written communication and comprehension skills (impeccable spelling and grammar). This is a crucial quality for someone working in a remote team where written communication forms the bulk of team communication.
- The ability to spot errors, proofread and edit curriculum content.
- Very strong teamwork skills with the ability to lead a team, as well as work on your own when required.
- Ability to work remotely and survive long periods of time without physically seeing your coworkers (although you will be in daily communication with your team via email and video chat).
- A clear ability to motivate why you are destined to become our Assistant Curriculum Manager and how you can add value to the content we create and the products we offer.
Responsibilities
This is what you’ll be doing as our Assistant Curriculum Manager:
- Assist our Curriculum Manager with planning, executing and managing curriculum objectives and goals.
- Test, develop and optimise curriculum delivery formats and methods to ensure an outstanding learner experience.
- Work with our Product Development team to measure the effectiveness of our curriculum and products, and research ways to increase overall value to our customers.
- Author, edit and proofread curriculum content.
- Lead and manage a team of teachers who author, edit, translate and proofread curriculum content.
- Work to identify common problems experienced by customers using our products.
- Advocate customer curriculum and content needs across the company.
- Work to identify and develop upsell opportunities.
Position Details
Level: Mid-level Position
Remuneration:
- Monthly salary: R30,000.00
- Annual bonus: R30,000.00 (100% salary bonus in your birthday month)
- Total annual remuneration excluding perk allowances: R390,000.00
Perks: 6 hour work day, coworking office space allowance, exercise/fitness membership allowance, continuing education allowance, 20 days annual paid leave
Location: First 3 months at one of the Learning Lab Apps offices in Cape Town or Stellenbosch. Thereafter you’ll be working remotely.
